Grading Success

On Sunday the 26th of January 10 WMA members headed to Downend Sports centre to partake in the South Gloms grading. We had a 100% pass rate, a credit and even a distinction pass from Master Gayle. A huge well done to all the team.

New mats and a new session in 2020!

We are making some big moves in 2020! One of those moves  is purchasing 50 martial arts mats for us to train on!

We have also added an open mat session on Mondays 6-8 pm for anyone that wants to work on anything they want! Contact Mr Whitlock if you have any queries

PUMA British Championships 2019

What a humongous finish to the year the WMA team had. 11 competitors- 8 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 3 bronze medals. Amazing results, in various categories proving we are well rounded martial artists.. not just sparrers. Thank you to all of the competitors, the judges, the parents for their support, and of course to the tournament organisers at PUMA.Fantastic day had by all! And lots of reigning and new British champions coming out of WMA!

Being mentally strong

Mental strength is so important both in the dojang and outside. We often talk about the things we should or need to do. But being mentally strong also means avoiding certain behaviours. Here’s a great article from an ex marine.
